Application for SpiRIT Writing Competition

For 10th - 11th grade students with a love for writing.

Session I: March 14, 2025

The SpiRIT Writing competition is for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in grades 10 - 11 as of Spring 2025.  To participate, students can submit a writing project of up to 2,000 words based on the theme of the competition. 

This year theme is "Be the Change You Wish to See in this World". Here are some essay questions that you can answer in your writing:

• If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be and why?
  
• In what ways can the power of kindness change the world?
  
• How can you contribute to solving the social injustices in the world?
  
• You are a leader of an organization, how will you ensure you lead with compassion and empathy?
