NSRT Development
The NSRT software was developed at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) by Drs. Joseph Bochner
and Wayne Garrison, and it is protected by copyright and trademark registration. The work has evolved
from a unique cross-disciplinary combination of three distinct and generally unrelated fields of study:
language sciences, audiology and psychometrics. The confluence of knowledge from these diverse disciplines
has resulted in a novel approach to the delivery of hearing healthcare.
Features of the NSRT and its development have been reported in scientific journals and presented at professional conferences. In addition to the support provided by RIT, R & D funding for the NSRT has been provided by the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The NIDCD conducts and supports research in the normal and disordered processes of hearing, balance, taste, smell, voice, speech, and language.
