ASL-DT Development
The ASL-DT software was developed by researchers at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), and it is protected by copyright and trademark registration. The work emanates from a demonstrated need for objective measures of ASL proficiency. Research on the ASL-DT indicates that it is an objective and valid ASL proficiency assessment tool, usable for language-related pedagogic, research and programmatic screening and evaluation purposes.
Features of the ASL-DT and its development have been reported in scientific journals (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/281801344_Validity_of_the_American_Sign_Language_Discrimination_Test) and presented at professional conferences. Research and development support for the ASL-DT was provided entirely by RIT.
